UI Design

As a freelance designer, I designed a mobile App for Rhinocort with the intent of expanding the company's business and broadening the product concept which serves primarily to facilitate the daily lives of rhinitis users and for easy access to medical care, while also providing a number of free online services.

BACKGROUND

Rhinocort is a pharmaceutical company that produces medical products for nasal use. As an established pharmaceutical company, Rhinocort seeks to gain a closer relationship with its customers through the Internet, as well as broaden the scope of their business to better serve their customers.

PROBLEM
DIAGNOSIS

Followed by a human-centered design approach, I first conducted a user research and interviewed 3 patients in order to find pain points and needs of Rhinocort's users.

An affinity diagram based on our interviews. I found that patients with minor symptoms may not wish to visit a doctor, but are still bothered by allergic rhinitis.

I created a persona to understand and set the goals our target users.

DESIGN PROCESS

After completing a full brand review and customer research, I found people prefer to see new ideas in traditional pharmaceutical companies. Therefore, I redesigned the logo of Rhinocort, to appeal to more younger generations and to raise the awareness of noticing the minor symptoms.

Home

The launching page is user-friendly for any age groups. By simply clicking on the “check it out” button, our users will be able to view the agenda of the day. Upon reaching the home page, users can reach a prescreening quiz. Our AI-driven algorithm will utilize data to provide the best solution. Patients can then retrieve the over-the-counter remedy after receiving diagnosis. In the menu bar, the patients may click on “Profile” function to personalize simple settings of the application and edit personal information. Most importantly, we allow them to input medical record so doctors can view when needed.

Appointment

Our platform collaborates with local clinics and hospitals. If the patients found their symptoms to be worsening, they may also schedule appointments with any medical expert available online or visit in-person for consultation. By clicking into doctor’s page, patients could view any available dates and time slot to confirm booking. Users are also able to view reviews submitted by prior patients. Our application will send the medical record to the corresponding doctor once the appointment is confirmed. The chat page is one of the measures that patient can reach our doctors.

Calendar

Under our calendar page, the patients can see activities to be done. It completely shows the past, present, and future schedule. The function helps to keep track of users’ backlog and reminds them upcoming events; for example, it may demonstrate suggested regimen of the day and other medication details. A notification will be sent to the user when the schedule is approaching. For patients who need periodic care, this device is a simple yet useful tool.

Virtual Doctor

For patients who experience nasal symptoms or other minor illnesses, they may answer the quiz to help us assessing their conditions. Our questions are designed to understand our patients’ discomfort. We offer timely quiz result to inform the patients the outcome of sickness and possible symptoms. Diagnosis matches the symptoms with nonprescription medication in the most cost-effective and convenient way. We will also evaluate their health condition if deteriorates and connect them with hospital when needed.

Shop

Our platform also offers online shopping to fulfill patients’ medical and nutritional needs. Patients may select based on the type of products they need and click on each individual item for detailed descriptions such as price and ingredients. The product types include treatments for allergy, non-allergic symptoms, nasal discomforts and other supplements. Patients could place the order and checkout online. To ensure the fastest delivery of medication, we will collaborate with UberEats, which gives the option of same-day delivery from a nearby location.

SMART
WATCH

The application is now available on smartwatch! We have incorporated and simplified all the necessary functions. Patients could view incoming reminders and tasks to be done at the day. They would be notified when there is any uncompleted schedule. For those who have scheduled appointments with our specialists, the smart watch app allows them to check status and details. Reminders will also be sent via the watch for notification.
